CIPAF - Consortium for the Industrial and Economic Development of the High Friuli Foothill Area is an Economic Entity, composed of 44 partners, which promotes the necessary conditions to enable the planning of activities in the industry sector.
The area covered by the "Carnia Industrial Park" Local Economic Development Consortium of Tolmezzo extends over 250 hectares and includes the industrial areas of Amaro, Tolmezzo and Villa Santina.

The industrial zone includes the areas of Maniago, Montereale Valcellina, Meduno, Cimolais and Claut. The total area is about 2,500,000 m2. The Consortium includes over a hundred member companies with about 3,200 employees and an overall turnover exceeding 650 million euro.
Production focuses mainly on metalworking, steel processing, precision mechanics, galvanic engineering and composite materials processing. It also includes enterprises in the Agri-Food sector with a reputation for excellence.
The area is managed by the NIP Consortium - Hub for the industrialisation of the Province of Pordenone, which is the owner of the infrastructure. The entire area is equipped with networks for industrial and drinking water, gas, sewage for black and grey waters, purification, electricity, telephone and public lighting.
It includes a Service Centre, equipped with a meeting/conference room with multimedia equipment, a restaurant/canteen and a consortium childcare facility. The area also offers a fibre-optic internet connection, in addition to the "LAB.MET." metal lab, the offices of the GAL Montagna Leader and the IAL. There is also an experimental Fab.Lab equipped with 3D moulding machines.
The NIP Consortium integrates the ordinary administration services with an activity program already under way, establishing itself as a true service centre supporting the "Non-Core" activities of the partner companies.

La zona industriale Aussa – Corno ed in particolare l’area ricompresa nei comuni di San Giorgio di Nogaro e Carlino è dotata di una sottostazione elettrica gestita da Terna S.p.A., di un raccordo ferroviario con collegamento alla linea Venezia – Trieste, di una rete a fibre ottiche, di un metanodotto, di linee integrate ossigeno e azoto e di una rete fognaria confluente in un depuratore.

A seguito della messa in liquidazione del Consorzio Aussa – Corno e della L.R. 33/2015 del Friuli Venezia Giulia le funzioni istituzionali dell’Ente in liquidazione sono state trasferite al Consorzio per lo Sviluppo Industriale del Friuli Centrale (Consorzio ZIU).
The industrial zone covers the territories under the administrative competence of the Municipalities of Osoppo and Buia and borders to the West with the Gemona-Sacile railway line and highway 463 Gemona-Portogruaro, to the East with the road connection to the Gemona-Osoppo highway toll station (provincial road Osovana bis), to the North with the railway station and to the South with the consortium road immediately to the North of the hamlet of Saletti in the municipality of Buia.
The area of the consortium, totalling 2,150,000 m2 excluding the railway station, envisages a further expansion area of approximately 850,000 m2 and has over 40 companies settled within its area. The activities concern the production of office furniture, equipped partition walls, MDF panels and chipboard, melamine flooring, sound absorbing panels and walls, MDF containers for fruit and vegetables, the Ferriere Nord production plant is made up of an electric steel mill, wire rolling mill, rolling mill for bars and departments devoted respectively to the production of electro-welded structures, welded mesh for the construction industry, and the design and production of seats for public rail and road transport.
The area has a full infrastructure, a railway line, efficient road connections, electric connections and public lighting, water and sewage networks as well as a sewage treatment plant for the entire consortium.
The area is managed by the Consortium for the Industrial Development of Central Friuli (COSEF), which builds and owns the infrastructures, in addition to supporting the companies in the settlement procedures in compliance with the consortium’s development plan.
The park, which covers about 250 ha, consists of three areas that differ in terms of environmental impact and industrial vocation. Tolmezzo's industrial areas, Villa Santina and Amaro, host over 180 enterprises, with 3,600 employees, whose specialisations reflect different industrial histories and vocations, particularly in the mechanical, electronics, agri-food and technical plants sectors.
The park lies in a cross-border geographical area, historically devoted to manufacturing, positioned at the centre of Europe's communication routes. It borders with Austria and Slovenia, and is easily accessible from major motorway links. The areas are fully urbanised and equipped with innovative technological and computer networks, road systems and modern industrial plants built in full compliance with environmental sustainability and energy saving standards.
The Local Economic Development Consortium of Tolmezzo "Carnia Industrial Park" is dedicated to the efficient management of the industrial areas, the attraction of new settlements, the development of property and infrastructure, the search of opportunities and resources for business development. It is organised as a hub for companies, territories and institutions and aims to be the best habitat in which to do business and grow on the market.
The Industrial Development Zone of Ponte Rosso is located in the lower Friuli plain - in the municipality of San Vito al Tagliamento. 45 minutes from the airports of Venice and Trieste and only 10 km from the A28 motorway, it is located along Corridor 5 and is connected to the railway line linking Venice to Udine and Trieste.
Considered among the largest FVG production areas, it covers an area of 387 ha, of which 123 are dedicated to green areas, infrastructure and services, and counts 125 companies employing about 3200 people. The great variety of production sectors - from mechanics to wood, from plastics to food - has made it possible over the years to cope with the difficulties and to ensure the maintenance of employment and economic levels in the industrial area.
It also ranks in the first places for eco-sustainable industrial development, thanks to constant environmental monitoring, enhancement of green spaces, mitigation interventions and management of the water removal and purification processes.
The infrastructure completes the area under the logistics standpoint (road network, railway connection, intermodal yard, parking areas and freight storage), the technological aspects (low pressure gas pipeline, fibre optic, power grid) and the provision of services (shared canteen, kindergarten, “Lean Experience Factory” training centre, multiservice management centre, etc.). The development of new services such as the processing of special waste resulting from the cleaning of septic tanks, sewers and urban wastewater treatment has made the consortium infrastructure also available to the territory.
The Ponte Rosso Consortium (ZIPR), which is responsible for managing the homonymous production area, has always paid particular attention to the needs and protection of the companies located there. For companies that want to settle there, it offers the advantage of offering industrial lots with full infrastructures and tailored to the specific needs of production.
The area, extending over 500 ha in the municipalities of Udine, Pozzuolo del Friuli and Pavia di Udine, currently hosts over 120 companies for a total of about 3200 employees.
Production focuses mainly on steel processing, precision mechanics, galvanic engineering and composite materials processing. Located at about 2 km from the A23 motorway Palmanova-Udine-Tarvisio (Alpe Adria) - exit Udine Sud and equipped with its own rail link to the Udine-Cervignano line, it offers lots with full infrastructures and separate sewerage services, public lighting, electricity, telephone, industrial-civil water supply and fire-fighting networks. The area also has ADSL/VDSL internet connection on copper and fibre optic networks implemented by the Consortium that manages the industrial area.
The ZIU is managed by the Consortium for the Industrial Development of Central Friuli (COSEF), which builds and owns the infrastructures, in addition to supporting the companies in the settlement procedures in compliance with the consortium’s development plan.
The industrial zone is located north of the Province of Pordenone, in the foothills of Spilimbergo, with an area of 112 ha and more than 40 participating companies. The activities concern the research and development of plastics, the study and construction of external enclosures for buildings with significant technological know-how and products with a high design content within the industrial sector, sanitary systems for the bathroom and furnishing accessories for the home.
The area is easily connected to the A4, A28 and A23 motorways, and offers all of the facilities that companies need to run their business, such as fibre optic broadband. This is a particularly interesting area, also because of the low selling price of industrial land. It is located at the edge of the municipal territory, bordering with a rural context that does not limit its future development.
To entrepreneurs who intend to settle in the Northern industrial area, the Consortium offers urbanised industrial lots for sale or leased production areas, from 120 to 700 m2, inside industrial sheds.
The Industrial Zone of Gorizia, which is entirely located within the municipality of Gorizia, covers an area of about 85 ha and is downwind of the residential area. It is characterised by a dense network of small enterprises, predominantly family-run, specialising in precision mechanics and metalwork. There are also a number of companies engaged in the food and energy sectors.
The industrial area is connected to the national highway system and is in direct contact with Eastern Europe. (Consider for instance the motorway and rail connections as well the Gorizia Airport). There is also a fully equipped Business Centre, which can host business activities.
The Consortium of Industrial and Artisanal Development in Gorizia (CSIA) carries out and promotes a number of activities with the aim of guaranteeing high quality levels in the provision of services to businesses and the territory, including environmental measurements in the industrial area, advice on EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and IEA (Integrated Environmental Authorisation), design and implementation of public works, infrastructures and buildings and management of technological networks.
The area extends over an area of over 650 ha and currently hosts 139 companies with about 8,500 employees.
In addition to the shipbuilding industry and the thermoelectric power plant, major industrial and business areas are established in the following sectors: manufacturing, pleasure boating, logistics, chemicals, metalworking and construction.
The location of the industrial area is strategic, as it is included in the Adriatic - Baltic Corridor. It is located near the port, just a few kilometres from the A4 Venezia-Trieste motorway and the Trieste airport Ronchi dei Legionari. It is also crossed by a rail link connecting the port to the central station.
It offers building lots of different sizes, complete with infrastructure and served by the regional fibre optic network for broadband services.
The Consortium for the Economic Development of the Monfalcone area (CSIM) promotes its initiatives in the logic of sustainable development, seeking to combine economy factors with the enhancement of the territory. The organisation supports the enterprises that want to settle within its area by facilitating the licensing procedures and offers leased production spaces and open areas.
The Aussa - Corno industrial zone is located within the industrial agglomerations in the municipalities of San Giorgio di Nogaro, Carlino, Torviscosa, Cervignano and Terzo d’Aquileia.
The true strength of the Aussa - Corno industrial zone is its privileged geographical location. Following the liquidation of the Aussa - Corno Consortium and Regional Law 33/2015 of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the institutional functions of the Entity in liquidation were transferred to the Consortium for the Industrial Development of Central Friuli (COSEF)
The area is spread over three municipalities (Trieste, Muggia and San Dorligo della Valle) and occupies an area of approximately 810 hectares, currently hosting over 600 companies with about 10,000 employees. Production is concentrated in the fields of metal manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and coffee, with significant presence in all other manufacturing sectors as well.
The area, adjacent to the Italian-Slovenian border, is connected directly to the motorway network that in a short time connects the capitals Ljubljana (SLO) and Zagreb (HR), and has its own rail link that joins the line Trieste - Venice and neighbouring Slovenia. The area is connected to the Fernetti freight terminal and to the port of Trieste, which has seafloors up to 18 meters deep and is the arrival and departure point of regular and direct ocean routes connecting to China, the Far East, Singapore, Malaysia and many ports in the Mediterranean Sea.
The area offers full infrastructures, building lots and industrial facilities, including large ones, which may be purchased or rented.
The mission of Area Science Park, a national research body, is to support the development of innovation processes: for forty years it has acted as a driving force in building bridges between the research world and the business sector, between the public and the private sector. The several initiatives it has promoted, including at the international level, have succeeded in fostering regional development.
Area manages a science and technology park which includes two campuses, in Padriciano and Basovizza, with facilities equipped for R&D activities covering 80,000 sq m.
The Park accommodates 76 entities: 68 private businesses – including 15 startups – and 8 national and International research centres, which generate jobs employing 2,600 people (figures as of 31.12.2017).
Aside from the basic services, such as the management of properties and installations, and the implementation of new installations, residents are provided with assistance in the programmes for the development of their operations, including the management of technological platforms. In addition, the customer satisfaction on the services provided by Area is constantly surveyed and monitored, whereas the collaboration and synergy among residents, and between residents and the other local entities, is always encouraged.
Friuli Innovation is a dynamic hub, conceived to develop entrepreneurial projects or experience company realities in an environment that is rich in stimulus, contaminations, and new ideas. Located close to the motorway exit of Udine Sud, Friuli Innovation extends over 80,000 square metres of surface area, with about 6,400 square metres dedicated to companies and laboratories, 2,300 square metres of common area and 5,500 square metres of parking areas.
All the structures with a high technological content and equipped with wide band connections are well lit and immersed in green areas. The monthly fee includes Internet connections, all utility expenses and cleaning services. There are also meeting rooms available and public meeting spaces as well as eating areas.
Those located within Friuli Innovation may also use for free consulting services and technological transfer, acceleration of company organisation, corporate incubator services, communication and press offices.
Consorzio INNOVA FVG is a public institution wholly owned by Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region. It’s a not for profit research organization specifically devoted to foster mountain areas development. It manages the Technological Innovation Center located in Amaro (UD), conducting research and business incubation activities. The Center is qualified as a Science and Technology Park.

The Region promotes the creation of ecologically equipped industrial areas (EEIAs) in order to combine competitiveness, planning and environmental protection. EEIAs are aimed at the promotion and development of artisanal and industrial activities, whose processes are managed as an overall territorial system, in order to guarantee, in the perspective of sustainable development, a high overall environmental quality together with the support, consolidation and improvement of the competitiveness of the regional production system.
